» My father was an alcoholic and
died almost 12 years ago.
It’s not something I like to talk about.
and what made telling about my family
generally very difficult.
That was and still is a dark shadow,
which is associated with much grief.
So I decided, within the framework of this workshop,
to make some sort of alternative photo album,
without leaving out the shameful aspects.
To fight against hiding, so to speak, with the help of
pictures and statements of my father, my sister, my mother
and me about that time.
Through this work, I have also explored how unprocessed
feelings of shame and inferiority made my father suffer.
So at the same time, I attempted to
work on those feelings by openly showing. «
